Traxxas Jato 3.3 Review Summary
The Traxxas Jato 3.3 is an exceptionally well crafted RC car built for speed – reaching 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and hitting top speed of 65 mph right out of the box.
It comes with the Traxxas Stability Management, which allows for arrow-straight acceleration on slippery surfaces, without fishtailing, spinouts, or loss of control. You can also use an iPhone or iPod to control your Traxxas Jato 3.3 with the Traxxas TQi radio system with Docking Base.
Our experience and Traxxas Jato 3.3 review
The Traxxas Jato 3.3 is a 2 speed RC car with a 75cc fuel tank, and is truly ready-to-run (RTR) – you only need batteries and fuel to get started. With a full tank, you can drive for 5-7 minutes before needing to refuel.
We like that the turning radius of the steering is very wide, which enables the Traxxas Jato 3.3 to turn a wider angle.
The pre-installed telemetry sensors is a great help when tuning the engine and watching how the Traxxas Jato 3.3 performs on the track too – you can now get real time feedback about the temperature of the engine, RPM, voltage and how fast you are going.
The Jato 3.3 comes with the EZ-Start system – a system that has attracted both fans and haters. Newbies to nitro RC cars will love having the EZ-Start system as it can be a real benefit – understanding the basics of how the engines work and are tuned might be confusing for beginners. The EZ-Start system does requires some maintenance to keep everything working smoothly, just like any piece of machinery.
The anaconda tires are about an inch and a half wide and are very solid. The Traxxas Jato 3.3 has a great stance, which makes the car very flexible when doing jumps or turning corners.
Made for on-road or street driving, you can easily modify the Jato 3.3 with wheels and tires for some off-road fun or sand at the beach. The Jato 3.3 also has enough power to make a wheelie, and it even comes with a wheelie bar.
It is good to note that the Jato 3.3 is incredibly loud, so expect it to get pretty loud when you are out driving.
The Traxxas Jato 3.3 is a sleek, well-performing RC car that is crazy fast, therefore it might not be the easiest RC car to handle for beginners. We enjoyed using the Traxxas Jato 3.3 on road, but will use another RC vehicle for driving off-road.
