ARRMA Kraton 6S BLX Features Summary
The Arrma AR106015 Kraton 6S BLX is an electric powered 4WD Monster RTR Truck that comes with a good speed and durability. It features a steel driveshafts, waterproof Steering Servo, 2050Kv brushless motor, thick aluminum chassis and sway bars.
Right out of the box, the Arrma AR106015 Kraton 6S BLX feels a little more like a race truggy more so than a monster truck. An extra 14T pignon gear and 2 XT90 battery connectors (female plugs) are also included in the box.
The Arrma AR106015 Kraton 6S BLX uses the Tactic TTX300 radio, which runs on 4 AA batteries and comes with adjustable steering end points. The Tactic TTX300 radio has a really good range and it feels comfy in our hands.
We thought it was smart that the body came with these rubber “hooks” to help prevent you loosing your body.
In this version update, the 2050Kv brushless motor is much bigger than the motor of the last Kraton version. This means that the 2050Kv brushless motor is going to be stronger and more torque and speed than the last version.
Our experience and ARRMA Kraton 6S BLX review
Compared to the Arrma Kraton 6S BLX version 1, this updated version 2 model comes with much better improvements. Arrma has done a great job improving the shocks on this latest version, although we still found the springs to be a little short as the shock collars are wound all the way to the bottom. That said, at least the power is not sagging in the rear like the original version.
The Arrma Kraton 6S BLX version 2 has a great ground clearance (you can literally slide your arm right below), although you can lower the truck for speed runs etc if you wish.
Taking the Arrma Kraton 6S BLX out for a run on sand, this truck performs well on both sand and hard pavement.
When it comes to handling, we felt that the Arrma Kraton 6S BLX handled great. It had a lot of steering and a tremendous amount of horsepower. It jumps and lands pretty well, which works great when you are running through bumps really quickly.
The brakes feel a little excessive so we recommend turning down the breaking strength just a little. If you smash the breaks while doing tricks, it will cause the truck to do a almost complete front flip. But if you want to level the truck in the air to get a nice landing, you might want to turn the brakes down.
The steering servo that comes with the kit is great, although it is advertised as around 200 ounces of torque which is rather short. This is not a problem when you are out bashing on hard concrete as the truck handles and responds really quickly. However when you start running the truck through deeper sand, you will start to see the steering servo really laboring to get those wheels to turn, especially when the truck is standing still.
The durability of the Arrma Kraton 6S BLX is top notch. To our surprise, the truck did not break despite the amount of bashing and beating it received during our runs.
- Speed power
- Great durability
- Value (especially when compared to a Traxxas eRevo )
- Radio does not feel as high end as you might expect for a truck this price
- Serving servo only has 200 ounces of torque
We are impressed with the Arrma Kraton 6S BLX and the value you get for the price you pay. It is not as high end as a race vehicle but these aren’t even in the same price league to begin with. This is a great vehicle to bash around due to the speed and durability.
Parts availability and support for the Arrma Kraton 6S BLX might not be as available as Traxxas parts, but chances are you wouldn’t be needing those spare parts anyway due to the great durability. That said, check with your local hobby stores or Amazon for parts support.
