The Losi LST platform has a reputation for toughness – so how does the Losi LST XXL2-E monster truck fare?
Losi LST XXL2-E Monster Truck Features
The Losi LST XXL2-E is a 1/8 scale, ready to run 4WD electronic brushless monster truck with 6S capabilities that reaches up to 60+ mph. It comes equipped with the AVC (Active Vehicle Control) technology, Dynamite 2200Kv Brushless Motor, Dynamite 6S compatible ESC, Spektrum DX2E 2.4GHz radio system, and waterproof electronics.
This version of the Losi LST XXL is very similar to the last version, except that it now comes with aluminum shocks, sway bars, and a cool-looking red aluminized chassis.
As a 1/8 scale monster truck, the Losi LST XXL2-E is massive – it even comes with large wheels and tires to grip the ground. This high-performance monster truck isn’t an RC truck that is made for beginners, and if you are looking for an RC truck that is built to stand up to abuse as well as to tackle any terrain effectively, the Losi LST XXL2-E is the monster truck for you.
Losi LST XXL2-E Monster Truck Reviews
The Losi LST XXL2-E has plenty of power with the Dynamite 2200Kv brushless motor – you will have no problem doing a standing back flip or a back flip in mid-air. Controllability in the air is very good and I had no problems rotating the truck in either directions in mid-air.
In terms of run time, it depends on how you drive the truck but you can expect an average run time of 30 minutes.
The suspension of the Losi LST XXL2-E monster truck is one of the best in the market. It takes landings very well and absorbs the shocks even from high landings. The stock front and rear track bars also helped with the suspension.
Overall, the Losi LST XXL2-E monster truck has a good durability. Several axles, a turnbuckle, and a spindler were broken due to a couple of intense jumps, but other than that I had no other issues with this truck.
One thing to note is that the wheel nuts are not being completely tighten from the factory, hence you would need to pop all the wheel caps off and make certain the 17mm sits tight against the wheel.
The wheelie bar that came with the truck broke after the first couple of hits. I would recommend removing the wheelie as it sits low, is unadjustable, and is too long to be effective.
The Losi LST XXL2-E monster truck is a great RC truck for those looking for some backyard bashing fun and wants a truck with great durability that can handle flips, harsh landings, and different terrains.
